Sculpture & Carving
We are a small but friendly Club. Visitors and intending members are welcome, but participants must be financial members of another club associated with Woodgroup SA Inc to participate in our activities. Bring your own projects and tools if you have them (we can help if you don't). We don't teach woodcarving, but are willing to help novices with their projects.
Meetings consist of a small amount of general business, a Show & Tell segment and sometimes a tutorial by an experienced member. The meetings are largely "hands-on", with everyone working on individual projects, but with much advice and exchanging of ideas and information regarding timber, tools, sharpening, etc. We occasionally have a carving related excursion to which partners are usually invited.
Members are encouraged to increase their skills and to exhibit their work in Woodgroup SA Inc exhibitions, held each year the at the Timber and Working With Wood Show at Wayville Showgrounds, Adelaide and at Urbrae House.
Meetings are held on the first Saturday of each month (except January) from 9:00am to 12:00 noon at Thebarton Senior College Tech Studies Area. For more information, contact one of the members, whose details can be obtained by emailing the Webmaster.
