South Oz Scrollers
South Oz Scrollers is a progressive and resourceful Club of 30 members for anyone who uses or is interested in using the scroll saw in pursuing their chosen craft. Among us you will find people who specialize in cutting intricate and complex patterns in wood as well as those who use multiple woods and different techniques to create realistic works of wood art and others who create realistic portraits in wood.
Amongst the "scrollers" as we refer to ourselves, are beginners through to the advanced scroller, who has the knowledge, experience and skills to cut the most intricate and complex designs. Everyone is welcome. The group meets in a networking environment where knowledge, experiences and resources are shared and individual members are always willing to offer guidance and support to those wanting to solve problems and develop their skills. As well as providing skills training, it is an ideal opportunity for people to find out more about the craft and what equipment they need before purchasing their first saw.
The group also sponsors a community aid project named "Caring Gifts". Members participate by making small gifts that are distributed to those "elderly" living alone without family support.
We welcome everybody (the young and the old) to visit the Club and see for yourselves what the craft is about and how we operate.
Meetings are held on the third
Saturday and fourth Tuesday of every month from 9.30am am to 3:00pm at
Thebarton Senior College. For more information, contact the
Coordinators, Neil Schulz or Theo Kampes, whose details can be obtained
