Member Woodworking Clubs

Woodgroup SA currently has 11 woodworking clubs who are members of the state association. Seven of these are based in the metropolitan area working out of Thebarton Senior College, Golden Grove and Aberfoyle Park High Schools and Oakbank Area School. Other groups are based in regional South Australia. Some have general woodworking activities while others specialize in a specific crafts.  The Clubs meet regularly so that their members can share skills and knowledge through a hands-on, practical approach.

A Club under membership rules of Woodgroup SA agrees to participate in the concept of reciprocal rights where their members may participate in the activities of any other club for the cost of an activity fee. They do not have the full rights of ordinary members.

Most Clubs operate a form of membership over a short period (generally three months) whereby a member of the community can join the club and become involved in hands on activity to help them decide if they wish to further their interest in the craft. It is also an opportunity for them to decide if the club environment meets their expectations and whether they will take out full membership.
