In 1988 a small group of Woodgroup SA affiliates donated hand-made wooden toys to the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal. This was the beginning of what became Toymendous Inc.
Our workshops are hands on and anyone attending can expect to be allocated a task for the day. It could be marking out toys, doing a range or processes using power tools and small machinery like drill presses, cut off saws, sanding machines etc. or sanding, staining or assembly. Regular attendees generally get allocated a particular toy that becomes their responsibility to produce.
We have a morning tea break including a short information session. The Club offers the opportunity for people to get involved in a charity project supporting the work of other welfare organizations in our community. Our workshops are friendly and supportive so whether you have toy making skills or not some woodworking experience is an advantage.
The club doesn't charge an activity fee and while it supplies tea and coffee at each workshop it asks for a small contribution of 50c per head. Bring your own lunch and coffee mug.
